The African American Museum in Philadelphia

The African American Museum in Philadelphia is the first museum founded by a municipality dedicated to the preservation of African American culture. The museum is expanding the interpretation and research of its 450,000-object collection and is working with the Smithsonian on a variety of projects planned over the next five years.
