Percha Diversion Dam

Percha Diversion Dam and Canal system, Rio Grande Project, are on the Rio Grande, 2 miles downstream from Caballo Dam. It diverts water into the Rincon Valley Main Canal. The dam was completed in 1918.Recreation at Percha is managed for Reclamation by the New Mexico Division of Parks and Recreation (505) 743-3942. The park is open year-round and fees are charged. There are 29 developed campsites, restrooms, showers, and a playground for the children. It is shaded by cottonwoods and there is plenty of grass for your enjoyment!
