Fort Loudoun Lake

Fort Loudoun Lake

First in a chain of lakes along the 650-mile-long Tennessee River, Fort Loudoun Lake extends 60 miles from the confluence of the French Broad and Holston rivers downstream to Fort Loudoun Dam. This lake, which has 14,600 acres of surface water, is also linked to Tellico Lake by a canal. Fort Loudoun is convenient to Knoxville, Lenoir City, and Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and is easily accessible from Interstates 40 and 75. Popular fish species in Fort Loudoun include white bass, smallmouth and largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish.

Directions: Fort Loudoun Lake goes through the city of Knoxville and extends south to Lenoir City. To get to the dam, go south on I-75, take exit 81, and go east on Highway 321.
