Court grants musician Sheryl Crow restraining order

-- Paula David - Fourth Estate Cooperative Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) - Musician Sheryl Crow has been granted a temporary restraining order form Phillip Gordon Sparks, who is accused of threatening to shoot the singer.

The court order states that Sparks, 45, must at all times stay at least 100 yards away from Crow her family and management team, until the court hearing set on August 14. Sparks is also forbidden to contact Crow by any means, and is not allowed to possess a gun or any firearm.

The 50-year-old singer-songwriter claims that Sparks has been saying false things about her in various social media sites and that the man "was deeply disturbed because his posts were delusional, rambling, filled with profanity and laced with angry rants." She also said that she was fearful of Sparks' actions.

Crow's personal manager and a witness also gave detailed accounts regarding Sparks' threats and alleged deceitful stories about the singer.

Meanwhile, the award-winning musician and mother of two has been diagnosed with a benign brain tumor last year. She is also a breast cancer survivor.
