Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) - Following speculations that Jena Malone will have a role in the upcoming "Hunger Games" film, Lionsgate has officially announced Monday that the 27-year-old actress will indeed star in "Catching Fire."

Malone is to play tribute Johanna Mason, who, according to a press release, is "the female victor from District 7 who come back to take part in the Quarter Quell, the 75th anniversary of The Hunger Games. Johanna is described as being in her 20s, and is one of the most complex characters in Catching Fire."

The "Hatfields & McCoys" star joins Philip Seymour Hoffman, as the head Gamemaker, Plutarch Heavensbee, and Amanda Plummer, as Wiress. The rest of the cast members are yet to be announced.

Directed by Francis Lawrence and produced by Jon Kilik and Nina Jacobson's Color Force, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" is set to hit theaters on November 22, 2013.
