Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) - "Modern Family" lead Sofia Vergara has been named this year's highest paid television actress by Forbes magazine.

In the Forbes article released Wednesday, the Colombian actress' earnings between May 2011 and May 2012 are at a staggering $19 million, thanks to her endorsement and licensing deals and her media company.

While Vergara has started building her career since the early 90s, 2012 has by far been her biggest year as she had several movie roles, both English and Spanish endorsement deals—charming support from both the American and Latin American race, making her one of the most successful cross-over stars in the industry.

"The truth is out that we're in this country and we're taking over. To see people paying attention to the cultural changes ... is fantastic," Sofia told Forbes, referring to representation of Hispanic talents made more visible nowadays through the help of her media company Latin World Entertainment, which started from a small talent management firm into a licensing, marketing, production and new-media powerhouse.

Meanwhile, in the list, Vergara is followed by Kim Kardashian whose total earnings for the past year amounts $18 million. The full list is as follows:
