James Cameron files to dismiss $2.5 billion lawsuit

-- Paula David - Fourth Estate Cooperative Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) - Director James Cameron can only take so much of people accusing him of stealing the "Avatar" concept from somebody else, so he legally filed for a judge to dismiss a $2.5 billion lawsuit that claims such.

Sci-fi writer Bryant Moore claims that Cameron stole ideas from two of the former's screenplays "Aquatica" and "Descendants: The Pollination" to give structure to "Avatar." Moore then filed a lawsuit against Cameron last December 2011 and demanded around $2.5 billion in damages.

The famed Hollywood director now counteracts that lawsuit by claiming the complainant's scripts and ideas have nothing to do with Avatar, and is requesting for a judge to dismiss Moore's case.
