Lindsay Lohan plays surfer girl in new short film

-- Paula David - Fourth Estate Cooperative Reporter

New York, NY, United States (4E) - Lindsay Lohan seems to be getting back on track as a promising actress, because aside from filming "Liz & Dick", she has an upcoming short film "First Point" set to premiere next week at the Gagosian Gallery along Madison Avenue in New York.

A scene in the film's trailer shows a sun-kissed Lohan in a black two-piece swimsuit and sunglasses, her blonde hair sprawled as she lies on a towel by the beach. Another scene shows the actress in pastel blue surfgear carrying a surfboard.

"First Point" is an 18-minute film directed by artist Richard Phillips and Taylor Steele, and stars Lindsay Lohan and Kassia Meador, as the former's double.

It was shot on two locations, the Surfrider Beach in Malibu, and a private beach surf compound in California. According to Gagosian Gallery's website, "the film is a psychologically charged tableau...The film culminates with a surprising confrontation between the actress and a predatory battalion of paparazzi as she surfs onto Malibu shores."

This is the second collaboration between Phillips and Lohan, the first being a commercial in 2011.

The film will premiere on June 11.
