Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) - Marvel.com released the first official production photo of the upcoming film Iron Man 3 Monday.

The photo, which shows Iron Man's alter ego in the middle of his laboratory facing a number of Iron man suits and armors.

The production has started last month, according to FirstShowing.net. It started filming in Wilmington, North Carolina, and will also shoot on location in Raleigh and Durham in North Caroline, Miami, Florida, and China.

Iron Man 3 will star Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don cheadle as Rhodey Rhodes, and Jon favreau as Happy Hogan.

The awaited film is directed by Shane Black and produced by Kevin Feige. It is to hit theaters on May 3, 2013.
