Justin Bieber charged with assault by photographer

-- Paula David - Fourth Estate Cooperative Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) - A police report was filed against international pop star Justin Bieber by a photographer on Sunday at the Commons at the Calabasas Shopping Center, TMZ reports.

The unnamed photographer was trying to take a picture of Bieber and his girlfriend Selena Gomez just as they were leaving the mall.

Eyewitnesses told TMZ that the photographer had been blocking Bieber's car as he was trying to leave, and refused to move out of the way even after the "Girlfriend" singer asked him to do so, then a small brawl occurred.

The paparazzo complained of body pain and was taken to a hospital for treatment by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. He was released shortly after.

The photographer then filed a police report against Bieber, and the authorities are currently doing an investigation of a possible misdemeanor battery.

Bieber's representatives have not yet released any comment or statement regarding the issue.
