LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (AHN) -- The selection of this year's host of the Grammy Awards has many saying "cool." The Grammy Awards has announced that actor/rapper LL Cool J will be the host of this year's 54th ceremony.

LL Cool J (his initials stands for Ladies Love Cool J) is a two-time Grammy winner and has hosted the Grammy Nominations Concert since 2008.

In a statement, LL said, "I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards, and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true--it's gonna be a a great night."

The Grammy Awards show has gone several years without a real host. Queen Latifah did the honors in 2005 for the 47th awards, and Jon Stewart hosted the 43rd and 44th telecasts. Other celebrities that have hosted the event include Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O'Donnell.
