LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (AHN) -- Madonna, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. will have some company when they perform at Super Bowl XLVI. American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson has been tapped to sing the national anthem before the start of the Super Bowl on Feb. 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton will sing as a duet "America the Beautiful." Since becoming the first winner of "American Idol" a decade ago, Clarkson has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. The singer has also had more than a half-dozen singles reach the top in the Billboard Hot 100. Clarkson's latest album, "Stronger," was released in 2011. She is currently touring and recently appeared as the musical guest on "Saturday Night Live." At last year's Super Bowl, between the Packers and the Steelers, Christina Aguilera flubbed a line while singing the national anthem. Clarkson joins the list of A-stars who have had the honor of performing the national anthem at the most watched TV event of the year. The roster includes Carrie Underwood, Whitney Houston, Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Beyonce and Mariah Carey.
