-- Anthony Jones - Celebrity News Service Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) - From her first blood-soaked performance to her prime cut meat dress , Lady Gaga has become an MTV "Video Music Awards" lifeline. Now, the Mother Monster herself will take the stage again at this year's show.

MTV confirms that Gaga will be performing at the this year's VMAs, her first performance since she hit the stage in 2009 with "Paparazzi." She joins previously announced performers Adele, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, and Lil Wayne.

Gaga is up for three awards at this year's show, including Best Female Video for "Born This Way" and Best Art Direction and Choreography for "Judas."

MTV has been awfully slow in revealing the details for this year's show, which is airing less than two weeks away on Sunday, August 28th at 9/8 C. A host has yet to be announced.

But along with Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian and Rick Ross presenting, the network has confirmed that a tribute to pop princess Britney Spears will also take place during the show.

Gaga recently released the video for her latest "Born This Way" single, "You and I," and is set to make another announcement on MTV Thursday night.
