![]() Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) -- Zooey Deschanel is suing shoe label Steve Madden for $2 million over an endorsement contract gone wrong. The "(500) Days of Summer" star claims she turned down other deals for the company, but the shoemaker didn't hold their end of the bargain. According to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Friday and obtained by TMZ, Deschanel and Madden made the $2 million endorsement deal in August of this year. However, the shoemaker came back to her to say that they couldn't get retailers to back the deal, so they renegotiated for $1.5 million. Deschanel says she turned down other deals to prioritize her contract, but Madden never paid her the $1.5 million fee. The company also allegedly promised her a percentage of the profits as well if the sales on her deal reached a certain level. The actress will be seen in the films "My Idiot Brother" and "Your Highness" next year.
