BBC Sci-Fit Hit "Doctor Who" To Film In Utah

London, United Kingdom (AHN) -- The British BBC hit sci-fi series "Doctor Who" will be coming to the U.S. to shoot a two-parter. The special episodes, co-produced by BBC America, will film key scenes in Utah for a story set in the late '60s.

The episode will see the Doctor, Amy and Rory on a secret summon that will take them on an adventure from the desert in Utah right to the Oval Office.

Lead stars Matt Smith - the current Doctor Who - Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill will travel across the Atlantic to shoot pivotal scenes in mid-November. They will be joined by Alex Kingston, who reprises her role as River Song.

Showrunner and lead writer Steven Moffat said, "The Doctor has visited every weird and wonderful planet you can imagine, so he was bound get round to America eventually!"

"And of course every Doctor Who dan will be jumping up and down and saying he's been in America before. But not for real, not on location - and not with a story like this one! Oh, you wait!"

The show's sixth season will start airing the first part on BBC America in spring 2011 and the second block in autumn.
