The CW Renews "Smallville" For Season 10

Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) -- The Blur is coming back. The CW network has announced that the Superman-based series "Smallville" is returning this fall for its tenth season.

The modern Man of Steel story was just moved to Friday nights this season. It currently ranks at the channel's number one in its time period. The CW also mentions the show for dramatically improving its ratings in its Friday time slot by 67 percent among adults.

Tom Welling stars as the main character in the program, which initially featured Clark Kent as a young farm boy, but in the recent years, he moved to Metropolis to work as a journalist at The Daily Planet and embrace his destiny as a hero.

The show joins other The CW shows previously announced to return for another season: "The Vampire Diaries," "Gossip Girl," "90210," "Supernatural," and "America's Next Top Model."
