Los Angeles, CA (CNS) -- Actress/filmmaker Alexandra Forbes Kerry has been cleared of driving under the influence charge. Senator John Kerry's daughter will not face a misdemeanor charge after her arrest last week.

Alexandra, 36, was pulled over for a traffic stop last week. She was then arrested and booked at the LAPD for alleged DUI. Her breathalyzer test registered .06, under the legal limit of .08. She posted $5,000 bail and was released after five hours.

Los Angeles City Attorney's office spokesman Frank Mateljan told eonline.com that the there was insufficient evidence to file charges against Alexandra.

He also dismissed reports that they acted out of favoritism, saying prosecutors traditionally decline to move forward with borderline cases.
