Hopeful Ninja Fails, Impales Self On Fence

Seattle, WA (AHN) -- Overestimating his ninja skills, a drunken man impaled himself on a fence post as he tried to jump the barricade in Seattle Monday.

Responding to screams from what he guessed was an assault, an officer found a 25-year-old man impaled on a spike at the top of a 4- to 5-foot fence at about 11:15 p.m. Monday, the St. Petersburg Times reported.

The man said he was not being chased or in distress, but he did think he was a ninja, capable of leaping over the 4- to 5-foot fence, a police spokeswoman said.

A fire fighter crew freed the man from the spike, and he was taken to Harborview Medical Center. He's listed as being in serious condition and in intensive care.

It appears the alcohol he consumed bolstered his ninja confidence.
