Toronto, Ontario (AHN) -- A 55-year old Ontario woman who was buried in snow for three days was discovered Monday and found alive. A rescue team found Donna Molnar 12:30 p.m. near a farmer's market on a town 75 kilometers west of Toronto. Rescuer Ray Lau and his Dutch shepherd were scouring the area looking for signs of life when the dog sniffed something and ran 15 meters to a depression in the snow and started barking. Lau saw Molnar's face half covered by her black hood and her gloveless hands held up near her neck. Molnar was on her way to purchase baking supplies in the middle of a snow storm Friday night. She even left baking supplies on the kitchen counter before she took off on the family van and did not return since then. Molnar is confined at Hamilton General Hospital recovering, although she is in danger of losing some extremities. Rescue teams said it was a miracle she survived her snow ordeal considering that she was buried for 72 hours. Police theorized the snow's insulating effect kept her alive.
