Wheatley, Oxford (AHN) -- A British supermarket employee has died from a fatal heart attack believed to have been caused by drinking too much of a popular energy drink. Alfredo Duran, 40, died from cardiac arrest in the Asda store where he worked. Duran was believed to have consumed four cans of Red Bull every night. A 250ml can of the energy drink contains about 80mg of caffeine, a level equivalent to a cup of coffee. Some countries have prohibited the sale of the drink. Duran's autopsy showed that he had an enlarged heart, causing an inability to pump blood throughout the body. According to research in the U.S., two cans of Red Bull per day in a week increases blood pressure by up to 10 percent. Other studies say that people with heart conditions should refrain from drinking it. Red Bull claims that their drink is safe. "No one anywhere has ever shown any link between Red Bull energy drink and harmful effects," a spokesman for Red Bull said in a statement to the Daily Mail.
