Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (AHN) -- A man aimed and shot at his own son after mistaking him for a burglar attempting to creep into his home at night. Mohd Sobri realized he shot his own son, 18-year-old Mohd Zulfaqor Mohd Sobri, after the teen started screaming about how he was shot in the leg. "It was dark and I only saw a silhouette," Sobri said according to the AFP. "My son did not turn on the lights and I thought it was a thief who had broken into our house." The incident reportedly happened at around 2:00 am when Sobri's son decided to get a drink of water. The father explained that his reaction was a result of the tension due to a string of burglaries within his neighborhood. "Just last week, my neighbor's house was broken into," Sobri said to the New Strait Times. "Also, a few months ago thieves broke into our house while we were sleeping." Rattled, the boy is expected to fully recover from the injury.
