Auburn, CA (AHN) -- The California Highway Patrol managed to catch one of four minivan thieves, thanks to a three-pound Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix named Tink. Police were responding to a call of a stolen minivan, with three juveniles and an adult as the suspects. The four fugitives then crashed the vehicle into a hillside near the home of Wendy Anderson. One of the suspects fled, and took refuge under a neighbor's motor home. Tink, who was the dog of Anderson's son, found him in his hiding place, and proceeded to chase him straight into the woods, recalled Anderson. "They got out and ran and spread out," she said. "My son's little dog, Tink, found one of the alleged runners underneath a motor home in the neighbor's yard. He ran from a three-pound dog." "Before the K-9 unit was here Tink chased the guy through the woods," the Auburn Journal quoted Anderson. "My husband and son were able to direct the helicopter to where the guy was hiding." The 20-year old was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication, and resisting arrest. "The Chihuahua gave him up," said California Highway Patrol officer Jeff Herbert, who added that the three other suspects were identified as juveniles from the San Francisco Bay. The AP reported that the driver of the stolen minivan was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, felony evading, driving without a license, and resisting arrest. The two others were given up to their parents.
