New York's "Hugging Bandit" Under Arrest

-- New York police have arrested a plus-size woman as a suspect in dozens of pickpocketing cases disguised as hugging. According to the officials, for the past decade Myra Castleberry, 48, has targeted dozens of drunken men as they came out of city's bars, fondled them as she secretly stole their wallets.

Officials say Castleberry used the stolen credit cards within hours of the thefts.

"Hopefully, she'll be hugging her pillow in her prison cell for a long time," Detective Sgt. Tom Donovan told the AP.

According to investigators handling the case, Castleberry had been a suspect in the series of hugging thefts but she had always escaped arrest because most of the time the victims were too drunk to identify her.

Castleberry has two previous felony convictions and has been arrested 17 times between 1998 and 2005.

Currently she has been charged with grand larceny and was scheduled to appear Friday in Buffalo City Court.
