-- A 40-year-old man who went to his old high school to get a copy of his transcript was told he couldn't have it unless he paid a physical education fee of $5 and $7.95 for an algebra book he lost while a student there. Jeff Rolson, who graduated from Superior High School in 1977, needed to get a copy of his transcript for a plumbing apprenticeship when he stopped by the school last week, but the school secretary told him he needed to pay off that $12.95 first. AP quotes Rolson as saying, "I told her, 'Do you realize this was 30 years ago?'" Rolson said it would have been easy for the school to get in contact with him long ago, as he still lives in the same time and his daughter is now a student there. "Nobody contacted me, so I ended up paying the $13 to get my transcript," he said. He was happy, however, that the fee wasn't too steep. "It was 13 bucks. If they had charged me interest all these years -compounded for 30 years - I don't know what the bill might have been," he said. Although the school remembered that Rolson had never paid his fines, there was one thing the school secretary forgot. "She did forget the $2 fee for the transcript," Rolson said.
