Soldotna, Alaska (AHN) -- A 73-year old woman rammed her car straight through Tina's Hair Pro's window Wednesday, according to police officials of Soldotna, Alaska.

Driver Della Miller explained she lost control of her 2006 GMC Envoy while driving through snow-covered pavement and crashed into the front window of the salon she was heading to for a hair appointment. The collision resulted in two broken plate-glass windows, damaged walls and the salon's stone-work front, and some broken heating pipes.

A customer in the salon waiting for her turn was thrown across the room, according to police officer Marvin Towle. She was immediately taken to the Central Peninsula Hospital.

"I thought a bomb had gone off," the Associated Press quoted Miranda Nelson, a stylist at the salon, who was at the back room during the crash.

The estimated damages for the salon were about $15,000, and for Miller's vehicle, $2,500.

Miller will not be cited, according to the Peninsula Clarion, as she crashed her car into private property.

"People need to remind themselves how to drive in winter conditions," Officer Towle said. "It's slick. It's winter-time driving conditions."

Ms. Miller still proceeded with her hair appointment afterwards.
