Chicago, IL (AHN) -- Chicago City Colleges will train students for jobs in the casino industry if the plan to introduce casinos in the state gets approved.

Chancellor Wayne Watson made the announcement after Alderman Tom Tunney (44th), owner of Ann Sather's Restaurants, suggested offering casino training if the casino plan gets Legislative approval.

"When and if Chicago is approved for casinos, City Colleges stands ready to provide capacity and quality training for front-of-the-house casino jobs, all of it, including dealers," Watson said.

Advocating the vast field the casinos officer, Watson told the Chicago Sun-Times that the jobs does not include just dealing with cards or running the roulette table. "That's a small portion of casino jobs. A larger part is wait staff and support staff."

Saying that the plan's actual success depends entirely upon the decision of the Illinois General Assembly the Chancellor added, "I will only do that if we are legally approved. The legislative body has to approve Chicago."
