London, England -- A young couple from Hammersmith, England won a total of $19,000 playing "The Big Match" quiz game in 500 pubs and bars covering some 2,000 miles. Adding to their winnings, David and Lesley Brewis, who have been married for 18 months and are both graduates of Oxford University, said they spent only $943 on travel expenses. According to the Sun, the couple said they discovered the game was installed in hi-tech slot machines called itboxes, in thousands of bars and pubs across the country. The game gives a $38 jackpot when you completed a series of general knowledge question and a set of skill games. So they searched the Internet to find the pubs where the machines can be played then set off a ten-week trip aiming to win as many jackpots as possible. The trip took them to Brighton, Liverpool, Sunderland, Leeds, York and Leicester, they said. David told the Sun, "There is no cheating involved, no hidden gizmos, just good old-fashioned brains. Some of the questions come up again and again." Unfortunately for the couple, the game has been removed from pubs because the maker regularly changes the games.
