Munich, Germany -- A German man has constructed a giant replica of a U.S. aircraft carrier using bricks from Lego.

Malle Hawking, from Munich, Germany admits he was a die-hard Lego fan. He told The Sun newspaper that he used over 300,000 bricks to build the giant model of the aircraft carrier.

The 36-year-old Hawking said that when he finished his challenge, he ended up with a 4.7 meter replica of the USS Harry S. Truman.

He told The Sun, "It was a challenge."

The real ship is 1,096ft long, weighs 97,000 tons and carries 6,000 crew.
