Plaistow, NH -- Robert and Rosemarie Chooljian said they were shocked Thursday morning when they found that the baby Jesus in the nativity scene on their front lawn had been taken and replaced with a Budweiser Select beer can.

Bob Chooljian, 72, said he built the nativity scene with his children more than 30 years ago and it has been displayed on their front lawn every year since.

"It's something we kind of did together," he said, according to AP.

"You just wonder," he continued, "what was in the person's mind that actually did that? What was the reason for it? Why leave the beer can? What's the connection?"

The baby Jesus isn't the only thing missing from the Chooljian's manger scene - one of the three wise men is also absent. It was stolen eight years ago.

The Chooljians are asking that whoever took the figurine to return it with no questions asked.
