New York, NY (AHN) -- For the coming holidays, luxury retailer Neiman Marcus' holiday catalogue offers a varied selection from a $25 crystal desk bell to a $1.76 million space charter for six passengers via the Virgin Galactic spaceship to a $139,000 limited edition black 2007 BMW M6 convertible with a V-10 engine. Published since 1926, the book draws publicity for the firm as well as brisk sales. "The cars sell out in a matter of hours," said Ginger Reeder, vice president of public relations for the retailer. The company says it doesn't try to make money on its fantasy gifts but garners most sales from standard gift items like a $395 cashmere sweater. However, the company does manage to sell about half of its fantasy gifts, Reeder added. The catalogue' s most expensive item is a $3.8 million membership at Italy's Castiglion Del Bosco wine estate that allows unlimited time at the Tuscan villas and access to swimming pools, vehicles and spas.
