Kangaroo Given Artificial Limb

Hangzhou City, China (AHN) -- Zoo officials in Hangzhou Safari Park in Hangzhou City, China, took pity on a kangaroo who lost its leg during a car accident, and gave the animal an artificial limb.

Officials at the zoo said the kangaroo was the first animal to receive an artificial limb.

According to the state's Xinhua News Agency, the kangaroo lost its leg after it was involved in a car accident. The severity of the damage on its left limb forced the doctor to amputate it.

But zoo officials took pity of the kangaroo and contacted a manufacturer of artificial limb and fitted it on the kangaroo. With the artificial limb, the kangaroo is now back on its feet jumping and running, it was reported.
