(AHN) -- A rare two-toned lobster that looks half-cooked was caught by a Maine lobsterman. The odds of finding this kind of lobster are 1 in 50 million to 100 million, according to sources. Alan Robinson caught the crustacean in Dyer's Bay. It is mottled green on one side and a shade of orange on the other. Robinson has donated the lobster to the Mount Desert Oceanarium. "I thought somebody was playing a joke on me," Robinson told the AP. "Once I saw what it was ... it was worth seeing." Bette Spurling, of the oceanarium, said lobster shells are typically a blend of the three primary colors: red, yellow and blue. The colors then mix for the greenish-brown color of most lobsters. In the oceanarium's 35-year existence, it has received only three two-toned lobsters.
