Golden, CO (AHN) -- Beer-magnate Peter Coors revealed Thursday he was arrested in May for drunk driving. The 59-year-old chairman of the Coors Brewing Company says in a statement, "I made a mistake by driving myself home after a friend's wedding celebration... I should have planned ahead for the ride." Coors spokesman says police stopped Coors in the driveway of his Golden, Colorado home on May 28. A Breathalyzer test administered by a Colorado State Patrol officer showed he had a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. State Patrol spokesman Gilbert Mares says Coors was cited for running a stop sign and charged with drunk-driving. Coors is the great-grandson of Adolph Coors, who founded the brewing company. He has appeared numerous times in television ads warning against the abuse of alcohol. Coors says in the statement, "For years I've advocated the responsible use of our company's products. That's still my message and our company's message."
