52 Percent Of Americans Will Get Sauced On New Year's -- From Pizza

New York, NY -- A lot of Americans get sauced on New Year's Eve but, this year, it will be from pizza sauce.

According to a pizza poll by Dominos, 62 percent of Americans will stay home on New Year's Eve and 52 percent plan to eat pizzas sometime between Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

And about 68 percent of chowhounds will wait until the football bowl games to pig out on pizza.

-- 35 percent of Americans average three slices of pie per bowl game but two percent plan to stuff a whole pie in their tummy in four quarters.

-- Most men say they plan to eat at least four slices while the women will chew about three slices during the games.

-- Finally, if you're ordering pizzas for delivery, take note of the time because 65 percent of pies are ordered before the first game starts compared to 27 percent that are ordered at halftime and eight percent that are ordered between the games.
