Hollywood, CA -- Forget "haute couture" -- a Hollywood rocker has perfected a style of clothing she calls "trash couture." Roxy Saint creates one-of-a-kind dresses made of painted garbage bags fastened together with tape or safety pins, which are sold for $55 each at her website, www.roxysaint.com. Saint started making clothes from bin liners out of necessity when her wardrobe was stolen during a tour in the U.K. and she didn't want to blow large sums of money to replace the clothes. Since then, she's mastered the art of converting plastic into fashion, including the very important step of cutting vents in the dresses to prevent folks from fainting from overheating. Saint says big lawn clipping bags are the best for dresses because of their size. She says she's fighting music stereotypes with the bags because, as she puts it, "it's hard to label someone who's wearing a trash bag."
