Los Angeles, CA -- Actor French Stewart is finding a perfect place for his talents -- on the set of the ABC sitcom "Less Than Perfect."

Stewart -- who played Harry Solomon on "3rd Rock From The Sun" -- has been playing a cranky human resource expert named Gene Schmidtline and what was supposed to be a one-time guest spot has turned into a recurring role.

That's fine with Stewart who says he loves working on sitcoms but adds, "the good ones -- otherwise, it's a miserable week."

Part of the joy that Stewart is feeling while working on "Less Than Perfect" comes from the fact that he can use his past experience working at an HMO for his character.

In his words, "The corporate environment sometimes creates a situation where people can elevate petty concerns -- such as 'Who ate my lunch?' -- to a major level."

Besides "Less Than Perfect," French also will be playing manager Reuben Kincaid on the updated version of "The Partridge Family" debuting in January on VH1.
