Presidents Of The United States Of America Electing Not To Work So Hard

Seattle, WA -- This is a good time to be one of the Presidents Of The United States Of America. The rock group, that is.

The band hit its popularity peak back in the mid-1990s with songs like "Peaches," "Lump," and "Kitty" before disbanding in 1997.

The group reunited two years ago and, these days, guitarist Dave Dederer says they're enjoying success on a smaller scale. In his words, "We have more perspective but I don't know if we need to climb Mt. Everest again."

In fact, Dederer says when he looks back, the performances that were the most fun for him were the ones playing to small crowds "with no expectations."

That isn't going to happen again but Dederer is happy with the response to the band's latest CD, "Love Everybody," and figures his future is secure as long as the U.S. holds presidential elections.

As he puts it, "I'd like to think that every four years someone will be giving us a lot of money."
