Dennis DeYoung 'Styx' It To Heather Locklear

Chicago, IL -- A lot of rock groups inspire tribute acts but former Styx singer Dennis DeYoung may be the first rocker to perform in a band that pays tribute to himself.

DeYoung recently filmed a cameo appearance for the upcoming Hilary Duff/Heather Locklear movie, "The Perfect Man," playing a member of a Styx cover band.

In his words, "I'm playing the leader of a tribute band to my own band."

Although DeYoung enjoyed the cameo, he isn't giving up his day job. He's currently promoting a new CD, "Dennis DeYoung And The Music Of Styx: Live With Symphony Orchestra" and is still busy writing new songs for an upcoming solo album.

In his words, "I spend most of my time resting on my laurels but every so often you get a pain in the laurels and a song comes out."
