Real Ghosts Materializing For Halloween

Seattle, WA -- With Halloween around the corner, the spirits and spooks are coming out to play.

That's the haunting claim from non-fiction ghost story writer Leslie Rule, who says Halloween "seems to bring out more paranormal activity because everyone is talking about [ghosts]."

She says more people are on the lookout for creepy things at Halloween and they won't brush off odd paranormal occurrences as easily as they would at other times of the year.

Still, Christmas time usually brings out the most ghosts because, as Rule puts it, "Since it's a family time, ghosts want to be around their [families]."

Rule knows a lot about ghosts from her travels across the U.S. researching spooky sites for her new book, "Ghosts Among Us" (Andrews McMeel Publishing), which features 50 true ghost stories ranging from haunted houses to spooked-out amusement parks and brothels.

She says most ghosts don't even know they're dead, adding, "many don't realize they are spooking people out at these places, they think they're just hanging out."
