Slaudell, LA -- A legendary blues singer is refusing to let lung cancer give him the blues.

Doctors recently told Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown that he had lung cancer but instead of going under the knife, he's going on stage.

The 80-year-old is refusing treatment and says he "...won't go back" to the doctors, who he calls "sons of bitches who are just after money."

Brown insists that "no one's gonna cut me open" and prefers to spend his days doing what he's always done -- performing concerts to support his newest CD, "Timeless."

Time may be running out for "Gatemouth" but says his life hasn't changed one bit since the diagnosis. Except, he admits, "I do get a little short of breath but that's probably because of the smoking."
