Gay Website Hands Out Fabbies & Hissies

San Francisco, CA -- A lot of fussing is made over the Emmys and the Oscars, and now tongues are wagging in the gay community over a new award.

The gay-oriented website planetout.com has just released its First Annual Fabbie and Hissie Awards which give cheers and jeers to people, places and things surrounding homosexual culture.

A Hissie goes to "the George W. Bush regime for its endorsement of the Federal Marriage Amendment" and another one goes to the state of Virginia for passing stringent anti-gay laws.

Meanwhile, a Fabbie was awarded to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for its decision to allow same-sex couples to wed.

Meryl Streep and straight but gay-friendly fashion designer Kenneth Cole have both been awarded Fabbies for being positively outspoken on gay causes.

Finally, Ride Snowboards wins a Hissie for distributing banners and stickers at a trade show that read, "The worst thing about riding a Burton is telling your friend you're gay."
