Boston, MA -- Home improvement guru Bob Vila is use to rebuilding old houses but now he's spending his time tearing down Mike Brady.

TV Land will air a 35th anniversary "The Brady Bunch" special on September 26 and one of the segments features Vila building a case why Mike Brady was a terrible architect.

First off, Vila says the Brady home houses a lot of design flaws -- no windows, bathrooms without any toilets and "a staircase taken from a commercial development and plopped right in."

Vila also says the garage door is so close to the property line that "there's no way to get a car inside safely" and the exterior suggests a small split level home with no room to put Greg's bedroom in the attic.

But while Vila says the Brady home is, at best, "...a tear down," he saves his most destructive comments for the lawn, which was made of astroturf.

In his words, "Even athletes are afraid to play on astroturf" and figures that playing catch with Bobby on the lawn helped kill Joe Namath's knees and shortened his playing career.
