New York, NY -- Sally Jesse Raphael hung up her trademark red glasses when she stopped doing her TV show in 2002 but she's not giving up on talk shows entirely.

These days, the talk show pioneer hosts her own website, www.sallyjr.com, that features a daily internet talk show that she describes "companionship radio."

Raphael says radio used to be a companion for listeners but says that's changed over the last 20 years -- to its detriment. As she puts it, "A well-rounded person doesn't want a companion who is always talking about the Republican party.

Although Raphael's show covers some of the issues of her 1990s-era show, she is not tied to racy topics for ratings or to a studio. Because it's on the internet, she says she can record Tuesday's show in the morning; Wednesday's show in the evening and Thursday's show "...while fishing in Montana."

Internet talk shows haven't taken the world by storm but Raphael says being ahead of the pack is nothing new. In her words, "On our old shows, we were doing boot camps, reunions, makeovers and even "The Bachelor" and now they're all series on TV."
