Pro-Carb Congress Supports Burger Eating Contest

New York, NY -- NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) - Calling all carb lovers! The International Federation for Competitive Eating (IOFCE) will be going carb crazy at the World Hamburger Eating Championships, sponsored by Krystal Burger.

IOFCE president and active member of the Pro-Carb Congress, Richard Shea believes "the current anti-carb vibe is alarming and "encourages a balanced diet over the traditionally high fat, low-carbohydrate regime.

Though admittedly "not as militant" as the Atkins Liberation Front, which is famous for its PETA style flour-throwing antics, the Pro-Carb Congress supports competitive eating as a sport, but does not encourage overindulgence as a rule.

Carb counters will likely avoid the event due to strict rules stating that a burger will only be counted if eaten entirely, including the bun.

The World Hamburger Eating Championships is an 11-stage event, beginning on September 6 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
