Hotel Freebie To Folks Who've Legally Changed Their Name

New York, NY -- There's room at the inn for folks who have legally changed their name.

The Clarion Hotel Fifth Avenue in New York recently changed its name to Hotel 5A, and is celebrating by offering a free night to individuals who can prove they've legally changed their name.

Name changes due to marriage or divorce don't count, though.

Hotel executives say the name 5A is an abbreviation for Fifth Avenue and is also meant to sound like a typical New York apartment number.

Hotel heads also point out 5A was Jerry Seinfeld's apartment number on the TV show "Seinfeld."

So far, no one has stepped up to claim a free room but a hotel spokeswoman she says they're expecting an "overwhelming response" once they begin promoting the deal after Labor Day.
