Man Auctions Off His Life

Waterbury, CT -- A Waterbury, Connecticut, man is trying to get his life back on track with an "everything must go" eBay auction.

A 32-year-old info systems manager who wishes to be identified only as Jonathan says his debt and impending divorce have forced him to sell off everything he owns in a one-lump auction.

He's putting up his 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse, a leather sofa, bedroom set, computer, TV, stereo, comic book collection and numerous other items he's collected throughout his life.

Jonathan says if he gets at least one person to put up the opening bid of $39,000 that will be enough to get him out of debt and start a new life.

He says he won't miss his possessions. In his words, "They're just material stuff. I'll have new stuff soon."

So far, no one has bid on his auction yet which ends August 5.
