Ponchos Are Posh According To Back-To-School Teens

North Hollywood, CA -- Teen girls are taking a fashion tip from Clint Eastwood's character in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly."

It seems ponchos are the posh item for back-to-school among young ladies -- especially designs with fringe along the bottom.

Also hot with teen girls: Skinny leg jeans, which are being called "the newest silhouette" by the fashion director of the Robinsons-May/Meier & Frank department store chain.

Hope Brick says you can expect to see the denim duds in worn-in and frayed forms when students go back to school in the fall.

For teen boys, argyle is the hot pattern for t-shirts while "vintage prep" polo shirts and khakis decorated with multiple pockets and zippers are in demand.

Finally, blazers are being shrunk in size this fall, with undersized jackets popping up in fabrics from courduroy to tweed.
