LOS ANGELES -- Beam me up, um...who? "Star Trek" veteran James Doohan, who played engineer Scotty, has Alzheimer's, his agent announced yesterday (Jul. 7). Steven Stevens told the AP that the 84-year-old actor was diagnosed with the neurological disorder a few months ago. Doohan plans to attend his pre-scheduled three-day "Star Trek" convention in Hollywood Aug. 28-30, which had already been billed as his "farewell convention."
