Internet Dating Streaks Through Beauty Salons

Bellevue, WA -- Ladies, next time you get your hair done, you may be able to get a hot date out of it too.

An internet dating website, attractone.com, is trying to pump up its female membership by establishing depots inside beauty salons across the United States.

The idea is that ladies who come in for a cut, color or makeover create an online dating profile while they're waiting to be styled and then shoot photos and videos of their beautified faces after the treatments.

As an incentive, the dating service is offering free memberships to salon customers and throwing in a free webcam to use for their online photo and video profiles.

Site founder Robert Braun says he's reaching out to beauty salons because dating sites typically attract fewer women than men.

He hopes the salon selection will balance out the ratio, which typically averages 70 percent male/30 percent female.

If the plan works, Braun hopes to extend his service into other female-friendly spots like spas and ladies-only gyms.
