'She Bangs' Songwriter Not Banging Head Over William Hung

Los Angeles, CA -- William Hung's inexplicable stardom has some music fans banging their heads -- but not the guy who wrote his show stopper, "She Bangs."

Robi Draco Rosa wrote "She Bangs" for Ricky Martin, who banged it into a top ten hit in 2000.

However, the song didn't become a pop culture signpost until this February when Hung performed his immortal rendition on "American Idol."

Some songwriters might be hung up on Hung's success, but Rosa says the she-bang over "She Bangs" is "fantastic" because, "writing a song is like being a passenger: It's not where you take it, it's where it takes you."

Rosa jokingly admits there's another reason he's enjoying Hung's success: The royalty checks cash the same whether "She Bangs" is sung by him or Martin.

These days, Rosa is touring the U.S. behind his new English language album, "Mad Love."
